What to wear

Dress for the image, not against it.

What you wear should help people see your face, understand your role, and get a quick sense of your personality and professionalism. Use this as a starting point — if your session is booked, follow the specific guidance Lucero sends.

Start with the purpose

Before choosing outfits, ask where the photos will appear: LinkedIn or directory, executive bio or press kit, website, speaker profile, personal-brand launch, or social. The more public or formal the use, the more intentional the styling. And remember — fit matters more than trend.

Do

  • ✓Lean on solid colors — neutrals, jewel tones, or brand-aligned colors
  • ✓Choose pieces that fit cleanly at the shoulders, neckline, and waist
  • ✓Bring a few options if your package allows multiple looks
  • ✓Add a blazer or jacket as a simple, polished layer

Skip

  • ✕Tiny busy patterns or high-contrast prints
  • ✕Anything you'll constantly adjust during the session
  • ✕Wrinkled fabrics or visible wear
  • ✕Logos, unless they're intentional brand elements

Think in looks (personal brand)

Build a small range: a polished professional look, a more approachable everyday work look, and a look that reflects your industry or brand story. Optional detail pieces, props, tools, or products that fit your work can add personality.

Coordinate for teams

Teams don't need identical outfits, but they should look coordinated. Decide before the day whether the team wears similar tones, brand colors, business formal, or business casual.

The real goal: you don't need to arrive perfectly comfortable — just prepared enough to be guided. Lucero handles posing, expression, light, and direction.
