A NOTE FROM LUCERO
The truth about being
in front of the camera
I used to avoid it completely. For years I was the one behind the lens — directing, coaching, making everyone else look their best. And the whole time, I was quietly terrified of being on the other side. Me. A photographer. Afraid of the camera.
When I finally did it — when I let someone photograph me — I understood everything. The vulnerability of it. The way you suddenly forget how to hold your hands. The voice in your head that says I'm not photogenic. I never look good in photos. This is going to be awkward. I felt all of it.
And I realized: that's exactly what every single person who walks into my studio is feeling.
We are not born models. Nobody is. What looks effortless in a great photo is the result of the right direction, the right light, and someone on the other side of the camera who genuinely wants you to feel good. That's it. That's the whole secret.
That experience changed how I work. It became my purpose — not just to take a great photo, but to make the whole experience feel safe, easy, and maybe even fun. To be the kind of photographer I wish I'd had when I was on the other side.
Because when you have the right person behind the camera and the right light in front of you — I promise you, it's going to be great.

Every client is different — a founder building her personal brand needs something completely different from an executive updating his LinkedIn, or a team that needs 30 people photographed in a single afternoon. This 5-question quiz takes about two minutes and gives you a specific recommendation — including what's included and where to start.
